Barnyard millet (Echinochloafrumantacea) or Kuthiraivalli in Tamil is a tiny white grain which is similar to broken rice after cooking. This is one of the fastest growing crops and also considered as an economical grain. Barnyard millet has good source of proteins, low in calories and very useful for people during fasting days.
