Papadum or Papad or Appalam in Tamil is a famous dish in India especially in south India. It is in fried form made from chickpeas flour, rice or black gram flour. Papadum is thin, crispy and served as a side dish or snacks. Papad is one of the main accompaniments with banana leaf rice.
